In response to recent Supreme Court shenanigans, People Power United - a progressive grassroots group - issued the following statement:
“The Supreme Court has become unhinged. There is no power like that of the people, and People Power United stands ready to protect our communities against any and all injustices,” said Laurie Woodward García of People Power United.
People Power United will continue to oppose such harm to our community and champion civil rights for all.

NEW Rulings
Washington Post: “In its final opinion of the day, the court has upheld the statute at issue in U.S. v. Rahimi, ruling that guns may be taken from people who are under domestic violence restraining orders. The ruling is 8-1, with Justice Clarence Thomas dissenting.”

Lawrence Hurley reports that on Friday the Supreme Court in an 8-1 ruling “upheld a federal law that prohibits people subject to domestic violence restraining orders from having firearms, taking a step back from its recent endorsement of a broad right to possess a gun.” Justice Thomas dissents.
